DESIGN is a roadmap or a strategic approach for someone to achieve a unique expectation. It defines the specifications, plans, parameters, costs, activities, processes and how and what to do within legal, political, social, environmental, safety and economic constraints in achieving that objective.
DESIGNing often necessitates considering the aesthetic, functional, economic, and sociopolitical dimensions of both the DESIGN object and DESIGN process. It may involve considerable research, thought, modelling, interactive adjustment, and re-DESIGN.
The process of DESIGN is where everything about an object or idea is figured out – what it looks like, the shape, how it functions, what colour it is, etc.
“Everything” is DESIGNed: clothing, buildings, mobile phones, computers, cutlery, paperclips, tea kettles, fridges, furniture . . . EVERYTHING STARTS WITH AN IDEA!
The person designing is called a DESIGNer and they engage in a
DESIGN Process of Creation.
